Putting Surprise Sweater Together

Here is what the sweater looks like when you finish knitting. Top
left yarn tail is where you cast on the bottom edge, and top right
yarn tail is where you bound off the top edge. I am going to add in
the instructions to put a marker at the end of the first set of
miters and at the beginning of the second set of miters on the
right edge of knitting. That marks the sides of the sweater. Lay
the piece flat with purl side facing you and with the right edge of
the knitting on the bottom.

Take hold of the center of the miter and move it over to the center
bottom of the sweater.

The miter becomes the front corner of your sweater as shown below

The top of your sweater should look like this now. The little L
shape is now your neckhole.

Straighten out the sleeve as shown below.
