Knitware™ Design

KNITWARE™ is a set of  wonderful pattern design software for machine knitters, hand knitters and crocheters.  Originally created by Janet Tombu, now retired, they are being continued by Ada Lai of Great Knit Designs. The programs will enable you to quickly and easily create patterns for babies, children, adults, toys and, yes, even pets!  Your friends and family will be thrilled with all the exciting garments you design, knit or crochet using the Knitware programs for Windows Systems (Win 98 or higher).  It is easy to use and there is extensive on-line help and a printable user manual. There is also a user group list which you can join.

THREE PROGRAMS OFFERED.....

• Sweaters: extensive selection of styles (even tunics & dresses), cropped to ankle-length, standard and custom sizes for children, men, & women

• Skirts & Shawls: skirts, shawls (rectangular, circular, semi-circular, Faroese), ponchos, afghans, blankets, and more!

• Basics:  "critter" clothes (dog sweaters, etc.) , basic garments, sizes from dolls to adult people.

     All three programs use the gauge that YOU knit  and crochet to, so you can use the yarns you want to use instead of trying to match someone else's gauge!  Once you have made your selections, you will get a schematic diagram of your design as well as printed pattern instructions for you to knit or crochet from.  Good for computer beginners or experts, as it is simple to use, with extensive on-line help and a printed user guide to get you started.
